The dome and finial, meticulously shaped by hand, reflects not only traditional skills but a commitment to bespoke detail.

This was to replace the original dome that was installed in 1903.

Aurubis 0.7mm x 670mm & 1000mm Half Hard Copper. The dome was installed using traditional techniques - flat lock, standing seam, overlapping and soldering. No mastic was used at all. As the copper was hard it needed to be annealed on strategic spots using a flame to make it glowing red and black dust appearing to allow the installer to shrink or stretch the metal.

A topping out ceremony was carried out last week and many people from the local community attended to see the finished project.
